Hope y'all can help me out. Girlfriend's 2012 mini coupe has power but no dash lights and no reaction when trying to start. Door locks and windows work. Battery is fairly new and completely charged. Second time this has happened within a week. last time, let it sit for a minute and then it started. Radio will stay on constantly unless tuned off manually. Checked battery, clutch switch is in tack (not knocked off), remote locks and unlocks doors, tried disconnecting battery cables and multiplex connections and reconnecting after 5 minutes to reset system. Air bag light and seat belt belt light have been coming on and off since last time it happened, but now no dash lights at all. Car does not have comfort access, so key has to be inserted into slot an start button pushed to start. Any ideas before I tow this. I cannot find anyone online that has had this problem. Update on no start issue. Found extra key for car and car starts with that key. I ordered a battery for the dead remote for $10 on amazon and i will solder it in. My understanding is that the battery only controls the door locks which work fine. Worth a shot. If it does not fix the no start issue with that remote i will have to replace it.

 

Was about to suggest trying a second key. Glad you got it figured out. Not sure if a new battery will do the trick i have a feeling once the old battery is removed the fob will need to be re programmed
