Mini Problems

I’ve seen a similar issue but it wasn’t exact so I wanted to get a second opinion:
I have a 2010 Mini Cooper base model. While I’m driving it will shut off and i won’t notice at first because my ac and music is still on but it won’t accelerate and my power steering will go out after a bit. I have to put it in park wherever I am and turn it back on. Then it runs fine. It’s always at a random time but usually it’s when I’m not going a high speed and it’s only happened a couple times. What could this be?

Have the OBD codes read. also, there might be a loose connection some where or a bad fuse box. Do you have a sunroof? if so, do you notice water leak by the passenger kick panel? was the car serviced recently? if so, are all wires and plugs tight, specially the grounds?
