I have a 2008 Mini Cooper S. The car refuses to start when depressing the clutch. Ignition turns in all the lights and beeps. But when you try and start the car it doesn't. Replaced the Position sensor and still nothing. No leaks on the master nor slave cylinders. After a few tries the dash says to depress the clutch pedal. That's what poi ted me to the sensor but still nothing. Any ideas or help would be appreciated

 

I bought a 2012 S and had the same problem. Bought it with a bad clutch so I didn't know I had the problem until after I had replaced the clutch). There is a white plastic "pin" going thru a hole in the upper pedal arm that sheared off, which prevented the switch from being activated. It's not easy laying on your back and looking up under the dash, but that was what stopped mine from starting
