Thermostat JCW R56

Hi guys, I am a spanish driver with a JCW 2010.

My problem is the last month I changed the famous Thermostat and since this moment the coolant is a range 108-111C, when before it goes normally at 105C.

we changed for second time the Thermostat with the same result.

Help me please!! Thanks!

Are you using OEM or aftermarket replacements?

If I am not mistaken, all the original thermostat part from BMW/Mini has the temperature set to 108C. I had change twice with only part from BMW/Mini both are running at 108C.

This is on my 2009 fJCW

I am sorry for my ignorance, am located in tropical therefore the fan has no chance to stop, plus we have to turn on air-condition all the time.

Yeah, my fan is always on.

Update with more information: My JCW is from Italy and I buy in Spain and the two thermostast are spanish replacements.

I think the ECU/DME and the software is not avaible with the Thermostat from Spain...

I can confirm the thermostat is a OEM.

Does my JCW need a upgrade software?

If you can get updated software would be nice. I still have the same software from day one.

What do you want to achieve by updating the software??

I would like the temp of coolant will be 105C and not range 108-111C as it is now.

The Solution? I dont know
