Upgrades??
Hello guys
Two days after I got my 08 MCS it started making the “kazoo noise” after searching around I’m going to conclude that it’s the pressure converter ECS Tuning part# (ES#2804736)
my question is since I’m going to be fixing something I might as well upgrade whatever I’m fixing.
Is ECS Tuning part number ES#3184434
An upgrade for what I’m fixing? It’s a blowoff valve but it has what seems to be a similar part in the pictures. I emailed them a couple a days ago to find out with no answer so far, so figured I’d just ask and see if anyone has an knowledge of it.
thanks in advance guys!

The kazoo noise typically comes from a bad pressure converter. It is not a blowoff or diverter valve. They are on 2 different areas of the engine.
The pressure converter controls the wastegate on the turbo by vacuum, and is located under the intake manifold.
The diverter valve is mounted on the turbocharger. It dumps the boost pressure.
The pressure converter isn’t really anything to upgrade. You certainly can upgrade your diverter to a Forge or a GFB DV+ or something. There are a lot of posts on here about using a blowoff valve instead of a diverter. Seems to be sort of hot or miss if it will work without giving you a CEL. I looks to me like it’s not successful more often than it is, but read some for yourself and make up your own mind about that.
Good luck
Edit: Ok I stand corrected. According to the product info on their website, ECS says that one will not cause a CEL.
