P1682 - Limp mode
My daughter's car was really hard to start last night, cranked and stumbled for a while, several attempts before it started properly, and once started it ran fine. This am it was worse, took longer and once started it was in limp mode. Shut it off and restarted and it was fine, no longer in limp mode. The MIL was on, and I read P1682. It's a manufacturer specific code, and the only place I could find a sensible interpretation was one thread on here, which showed "P1682 - Electronic Throttle Control Monitor Level 2/3 Idle Speed 'A' Calculation Fault". A few starts later the MIL cleared and it's running and starting fine again.
I suspect this may be related to being wet. We've had our first rain here in SoCal and the first hard start was after the first time it had been driven in the rain (it has no undershield so will get water up in the motor).
Any ideas what might cause this? I'm suspecting a dodgy connection to the Throttle Body, or maybe the TB is sticking once it gets wet. But I don't really want to just throw parts at it.
