I could really use some help with a few codes R56, N18 MCS
I have a 'new to me' 2011 MCS R56, N18. I have several codes, but it seems to be virtually impossible to find straight forward explanations of the codes, let alone fix them. Since the codes are in a few different modules, I will start a thread for each. The first code I need hep with is:
TCM (Transmission Control Module- EGS/DKG/SMG)
5110 Signal (Brake Pressure) Invalid, Transmitter DSC
Can anyone shed some light, in plain English, on what this means? Is there a brake pressure sensor, and if so, where is it located? Does it suggest that the actual signal is invalid or the information in the signal is invalid? Could it be that a transmitter someplace isn't transmitting? Does the DSC have it's own module?
I think some of the problem may be in translation and if I can get my head around the syntax being used, I may have a better clue.
I should note that although I am getting several Mini specific codes, I am only getting 1 (one) OBDII code : P18b9 This seems to be a transmission internal mode sensor according to what I can find. The Trans shifts beautifully and seems to be working flawlessly, so far.
Any help or advice is appreciated
