Headlight issue

My passenger headlight went out I have replaced the bulb. Then thought it was the wiring inside since there were exposed copper wires so I replaced the whole assembly that didn't work check all fuses none blown, then replaced relay that didn't fix it. Could really use the help to fix this problem. If drive side light goes I am screw with no lights at all.

Well, that doesn’t make any sense, unless it is some weird coding thing. Maybe you have to electronically enter a new code. The only other thing that comes to mind is that it is the wrong bulb.

The new assembly came with a bulb already installed. Also forgot to mention that the turn signal works fine.

The turn signal has a separate wire.

Do you get a warning about the light not working? If not, there might be a broken wire somewhere shorting with ground (and dirt causing enough resistance for the car to think that the bulb is attached and everything is fine).

Also, check whether power does reach the wire harness (easiest with a multimeter, alternatively with thin wires and a bulb).

Where were the exposed copper wires you mentioned?

They were old assembly between bulb and connector going out of assembly. But that is gone since I replaced the entire assembly.

It often happens because of a defective bulb the FRM module locks the light on,without signaling light bulb burned on board.FRM module recoding is required, can be done with ICOM ISTA or with other diag tools. Here how it work with Launch X431.Video is for a BMW E serie, but is same procedure for Mini Cooper R56.

Good call! Defective bulb, though brand new. Now , that DOES make sense. Call whoever you bought the new assembly from, and ask them to send you just a new bulb, and you will send the first one back.

Just check the connector to the assembly I doesn't get power. I tried the working headlight and I get power. So I think either connector problem or break in wire. Would the FRM effect both headlights if that was the problem?

Just strip back some wire behind the connector and still no power so not the connector.

Headlight right and left have separate connection to FRM.So FRM can switch off only one headlight.
