Found Parts in Block?? What are they?

Non Turbo N16 engine. Pulled head and found in the block small roller bearings and a larger metal bushing or thrust washer of some type, about an inch in diameter. There was also a part of what looked like a lever or something. I'm thinking the oil pump blew up and the parts migrated just under the head? Any thoughts?

This is the intermediate lever. It sits between the valve lifters and intermediate intake shaft. Not sure how it made its way to the coolant system! Are you missing any of these?

Yes, one was missing from the head. In that area there isn't coolant, but rather oil. It must have made it into the oil pan and got pushed upward by the crankshaft motion. I haven't yet pulled the oil pan, but that is next. Thanks for identifying the parts, I was afraid it was the oil pump. Knew I already needed a head.

you're right. It's an oil return passage.
