Brake Pad Light

Hello all,

It appears my brake pad reminder does not change. When I go in the settings of my 09 R56, it says there are about 20k miles to go for my front brakes and rear brakes. The only thing is... It said this about 20k miles ago.

Is this weird? Or is it constantly recalculating and assessing that my brakes are great? They haven't been changed in over 7years/60k miles.

I may be completely wrong, but I was under the impression that the brake wear sensor was a 2 stage warning. I don't think it actually calculates remaining mileage as much as it tells you when you have 20K miles left to go and then expects you to check and/or replace after 20K miles. It might be worth pulling a wheel and checking actual friction material left.
