Front end service bolt – what is the longest beneficial?

From https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...cice-mode.html

I see in the posts here at 120mm and 145mm and I’m wondering if that’s the longest they could readily get or maybe I can thread some rod to a longer length. Never having gone into front end service mode I’m guessing…

Thoughts?

BTW, one of the last posts on that page says he doesn’t even use the bots and lets things hang.

I see those bolts $4.50 https://www.lowes.com/pl/Hex-bolts-Bolts-Fasteners-Hardware/4294546152?refinement=560029667,4294710074

Just thought I'd follow up with I bought some M8 1.25 x 120mm bolts at lowes today and they worked perfectly. I swapped out my crank position sensor o-ring and pulled my bad alternator, I'm just waiting on the UPS man to bring my replacement alternator and I can put the car back together. Now I just wish I hadn't found my clutch slave cylinder leaking fluid...

Can't see needing longer than 120. I either used 80 or 100, can't remember, but that was about as far as the assembly would shift forward.

I agree with Eric, the front end doesn't stay all the way out on my 120mm bolts, the radiator hoses make it slowly slide back towards the car. Removing the bolt on the bracket on the upper hose helps give you more space.
