Just got off the phone with Quaife America.... They are still in prototype stages but they have a Limited Slip Dif in the works!!! Great news!!
Just thought I'd throw that out there....

Imagine that with John Cooper works mods..... 205hp and traction to boot!!!
I can't wait!

with regards to the differential unit, it is a torsen (short for torque sensing) differential unit that quaife is developing, and the product should be ready towards the end of july. as for the engine we are developing our own kit that should bring the power in the vicinity of 240-260 hp. will keep everybody posted with the launch of our New Mini dedicated website.

the complete engine modifications kit will run around 8,000--10,000 range, but more affordable and less elaborate mods will be made available too. we will not be selling gizmos that do not really improve the actual performance ,focus is on quality, reliability and safety, the trick is not to squeeze a few horses out of the engine while jeappordizing the vital components(crankshaft, conrods, pistons, valve train) but rather to start with an overengineered base and built upon it.

Just a couple of simple questions......Who are ,"WE" of we are developing?? Simply because I would be interested in contacting/purchasing now if not sooner and can these engine mods be completed on a cooper also vs the CooperS. I am waiting for the cooperS. The arrival will be in december but I have recently purchased a cooper because I had to drive one while waiting. Thanks in advance for your time and any contact info would be greatly appreciated.

The normally aspirated cooper engine can be modified just as the supercharged cooper s unit, but the gains in power and torque are not comparable, since it is rather easier to get more power from a sc engine, as far as selling we cannot commit to any pricing setup as we are still at the development stages and before offering any products to the consumer it will be quite some time 6-8 months, I hope I have answered all your questions as far as the "WE" i have to maintain anonymousity for now

This reminds me of something I've seen once before..... T.O.O Ended up being Theoldone.com which was the Endyne Group.
Look forward to seeing what you bring to the table.....
One question I had........ You mentioned 240-260hp figures.... Is that at the wheels or other?
Also has anyone seen a dyno chart for the mini's?

The hp rating is a dyno figure and that is the standard that is used in the industry, depending on drivetrain configurations the road hp rating could be less by 10-30%,but who really cares , the on road performance will be unequalled by any other production fwd on the road! TOO or not this will be one hell of a vehicle to drive!

I agree, with that kind of power (at the wheels or the crank) it will scream!!
My question was if anyone has seen a stock dyno. SAE corrected HP.
From what I understand, BMW typically uses wheel hp figures. ie. the new M3 has 333 at the wheels. I was just curious if the Mini is the same. If not.... I was curious as to how much power is lost in the drivetrain.
