Oil Leak - Uncommon Spot?

Been chasing what I thought was a pinched gasket when I resealed the oil filter housing. I finally hooked my compressor up to the oil fill tube and pressurized the engine and oil slowly trickled out the area I circled. Looks like where the block splits to remove the crank. Anyone ever reseal this area? There seems to be sealant here already and maybe a paper gasket. Can this be sealed with the engine still in the car? Does the tranny need to come out?

I would get up under there and clean the area REALLY good, then see if it comes back and how bad it really is. If it really is leaking there, I believe the only way to fix it would be to split the block - full engine tear down.

That's what I was afraid of. Tried tightening the bolts as they are accessible, but it didn't help. Only leaks when the engine is hot. Leaves a quarter size spot on the driveway till it cools off. Sucks since I spent so much time resealing everything else,

Smear some gasket material over that area and see if it holds. Then drive it and see if the issue spreads to another location.

when you replaced the filter assembly gaskets, did you replace both sets of gaskets? there’s gaskets at the block and another set between the cooler.

It's like you are in my garage watching me. Cleaned the whole area up with a scotchbrite pad and brake clean then applied RTV black to the seam. Should be all back together tomorrow. Will see if it holds. Fingers crossed!
