Vacuum leak ? Rough idle....

007 Mini Base N12
Rough Idle, lower mpg.
Please see video of issues. I forgot to mention that I took off the PVC connection (for no reason, just seeing what is was). I may have caused vacuum leak.
any other thoughts or suggestions? There are no codes present. I changed spark plugs, factory Bosch. Recent oil , VVT solenoid.

I had the same problem last year and fought it for about 6 months. Seems like same issue. No codes, hesitation in the engine at constant cruising speed, etc. I had swapped VANOS solenoids, replaced PCV diaphragm, wrapped electrical tape around the PCV hose, replaced VANOS solenoids, cleaned MAF and MAP sensors, changed spark plugs, and probably some other things that may have been the problem. Ended up pulling out the new VANOS solenoids and the problem went away. They were cheap Amazon ones and were faulty from the start. I'd pull the VANOS solenoids and clean them really well and see if you see an improvement. If you replace them, do so with OEM ones.

Thank you so much for the advice....and I also used amazon vanos when I replaced mine so I will try the old vanos. I had also replaced the o2 upstream sensor but I woukr think if that was the problem I would get a return of codes for 02 issues.
Do you change out both front and rear solenoids?

Yes, I had replaced both of the inlet and exhaust solenoids. Both are back to the original OEM ones now. I keep intending to replace them both, but just haven't. I've been cleaning them out every few thousand miles just as a preventative measure.

Hey thanks for the advice. I did go back to stock solenoid, the idle is still rough but its behaving better. Leads me to think that I still need to replace but I will now use a OEM. Thank you
