So when I start my car it starts and dies about 3 times on a cold start. But when it final starts up it runs really rough for about 5 minutes then it’s fine. What could it be????
2008 Mini Cooper S
sounds like a fuel pump. Start by checking that using a mini compatable scanner, and see what kinda pressure your getting at both Lpfp and Hpfp.... If you dont have one, put key in the car, and you should hear the two pumps, one at the rear in the tank, and one on the left side of the engine (cars left not yours when looking at it.
When I first start my '02, I turn the ignition on, wait a couple of seconds for the pump to stop humming & it starts up just fine.
I did the same thing years ago when I had classic Minis.
You might also check the spark plugs - MINIs tend to run rich & a good wire-brushing will help.
So far I have done a hpfp, spark plugs, coil packs, temperature sensor, housing, intake sensor, cam shaft sensor, vamos sensor, new vacuum hoses throughout and still nothing!!! Anybody know a solution????
