Code 002FC4 Please help

2012 N14 JCW - Car has been running great for the past two months since the turbo and other work was done on the car by myself. Today my daughter was coming home and heard a loud noise thinking she ran over something. They pulled over to check and they had not run over anything.
Thankfully she was very close to home and managed to make it. The car has seriously reduced power, it will not stay running and runs rough.

I removed the oil cap and it was smoking out the cap. I also see some oil spray around the Vanos and the top of valve cover and intake. I googled the code and am not seeing a lot of information.
I am thinking it is the Vanos, no hard evidence just a gut feel. Recently I did take it out and clean it. BOV is not making the whoosh sound which also makes me think it is oil related.

Not sure where the oil spray came from.

The oil level is fine also and no oil in the coolant so I am off to a good start I suppose. :/

There is another code also but I believe it is related to the Downpipe / Lack of Catalytic converter 002A56 - So I am ignoring that for now. Yes indeed, I just cross checked from previous and that code we had before several times.
The oil is extremely dark / black. Just changed it less than 1K miles ago.

Any and all help is appreciated! I had a meltdown when she called to tell me. 3 car family only had 1 car for months and then fixed the Cooper and now down again which is a huge effort for all three of us to use one car as I am sure you can imagine.

Thanks guys!

Replaced the Vanos. Starts right up and sounds normal except I am not hearing any BOV / turbo which leads me to think there is something going on with the Turbo.

Seems like there is excessive oil in the going in and coming out of the PCV. PCV was replaced very recently.

Anyone out there? I could really use some advice thank you

That error code is for the heating circuit on the downstream O2 sensor. So, yes you can ignore it for now.
I'm very suspicious of your new turbo, to me it sounds like it's shot. Most likely it came with some sort of warranty so all you're out for is more labor to change it again.

Turbo? Maybe but still a little too early to tell. Yes it does have a warranty. Labor is myself and I am expensive

Well, the two codes you have listed are not related to the turbo. So, unless you have another code, can't help you there.

2FC4 is related to the oil pressure switch.
2A56 is for the down stream O2 sensor heater circuit.

Neither of those codes "Should" have an effect on how the turbo operates, but it is possible the oil pressure switch fault is preventing the ECU from commanding the turbo to produce full boost.

Problem Solved! Turns out the root cause was the DIY noise maker delete plug. The loud noise that was heard was the plug being launched! I actually found the plug by accident near the control arm when looking for a socket I dropped.

Along the way I noticed the PCV was also bad so I replaced the Ebay special with URO. Also replaced the Oil pressure sensor and Vanos.
The Turbo is just fine.

Took it for a test drive and it is fast as it should be. On the way home from test drive I got the "reduced engine power" and just knew what it was. As part of the troubleshooting one of the first things I did was swap out the new BOV with a fully working older one. Well it decide to "detonate". Also the #1 Coil pack went out!

All is well now. Well at least for the time being until it's not lol.

Or maybe the wiring connector?

This site offers some code interpretation:

Code came back, hmmmmm. Car is running like dog poop. It has been hesitating to start in the mornings which I believe is the HPFP. Today tried to crank it multiple times and then started some loud pops and tried to take it down the street it was just gurgling and going slow. Scanned the car and the same two codes in this thread are present. I am ignoring the 002a56 as that is related to the CAT.
