Stock Problems/IssuesDiscussions related to warranty related issues and repairs, or other problems with the OEM parts and software for MINI Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S(R56), and Cabrio (R57).
I just bought my first Mini a 2012 S with ~40k miles a few weeks ago. One of my first complaints is a common one, the clutch pedal travel. After scrolling the the forums and seeing the BMS clutch stop and the few DIY examples, I decided to squeeze down there and take a look at things for myself and found that my clutch pedal seems to miss the clutch stop completely and digs into the foam(?) thats on the floorboard
. I had already removed the stock stop when I took the picture. So is my clutch pedal bent? Will the have an effect if I extend the stop either BMS or DIY? Is there any way to rectify this?
The clutch pedal is plastic so it will break if you're able to bend it. But it will hit the foam on the firewall before the stop. So if you really push down on the pedal then it will hit the stop. I put the BMS in my car and the diameter of it is much larger than the stock one so it hits the stop before the foam on the firewall.

Awesome thanks for the reply, I just don't wanna waste, even a few bucks, if my pedal wouldn't even hit the stop and continued to dig into the foam. Guess I'll be deciding on which route I wanna go the couple bucks or $10+shipping. Thanks again!
