2005 Automatic Cooper S R53 leaks ?
Hi,
I'm trying to figure out what these small leaks could be before I take it to the dealer to get an oil change. Here is what I think
1. valve cover gasket is a bit leaky has been replaced before a few years ago, car has 143K km on it now, driven less than 5K km/year last few years
2. I had the vale body fixed in 2012 at around 100K km transmission is still working fine
3. notice that the top of the drive shaft right side near the oil filter housing is also covered in oil (must be from the oil filter housing leaking perhaps on top of it).
4. I tried to get a sample of the oil spots near the back of the bottom of the engine area near the power steering fan housing and it was odorless but same color as the oil (oil level is at max and very clean still, have only driven 2000 km since last oil service in Jan 2020)
5 .I don't think it's power steering leaks, as I had the hoses done 3 years ago, the pump is still good and it's dry (why does it say R50 when it's an R53 Cooper S??) I'm the original owner by the way
6. I don't think it's transmission fluid it is in strange spots to be transmission fluid and although it seems to be a reddish brown could it be differential oil perhaps?
Thanks
