A/C Issue
2006 R53 Auto Climate
Trying to diagnose this A/C issue -
1. Car running, turn temp to low and turn on A/C. Warm air blowing and no load added to the engine.
2. Check fuse. Fuse is good.
3. Car running, A/C on, check freon pressure on low side. Reading 0. Add some freon, compressor clutch kicks in, load on engine. Add freon until at 37psi (ambient temp was around 95). Still warm air being blown from vents.
4. Turn A/C off and on to ensure that the clutch engages, system goes under load. It does. Notice that there is a whining sound inside the cabin from the top of the dash that emits whenever A/C is turned on.
What would be the next thing to check? Would the clutch kick on if the compressor was bad? Could there be a blockage keeping the freon from getting to the compressor?
