First start after complete rebuild - how to?
After two blown pistons, I'm nearing the point where I put the engine back in the car to start it up. Could you tell me what you would do on the first start up?
Background: My fuel pump died and I replaced it with a rebuilt fuel pump. After the "new" fuel pump it never really ran right - a bit of stuttering. I suspect this was the cause of my blown pistons.
Anyway, it's rebuilt with a brand new fuel pump. When I start, I'm trying to decide if I should start it at home or take it to the dealer to have their full diagnostics on it when I let 'er rip. Is there any benefit to the dealership or should I just run it at home and see how it goes?
Guidance would be greatly appreciated!

First start
If I had it to do over again, I don't thinkbi would have taken the body out of service position for 1st start. Yeah water side, engine and drive shafts. But leave off the flairs and bumper and tires, fender well splash stuff. You will get a few errors on the lights not hooked up, but who cares. It will make access so easy if there is a leak or whatever.
