Thermostat wiring retrofits
I am trying to make sense out of the Thermostat wiring retrofits. During a search of the forum, I was pointed to this retrofit URL posted in the forum: http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/MO...0829_retro.pdf.
However, that retrofit appears to be the way my car is currently set up. It is a 2011, N18 so it didn't have one of the first incarnations of the Mini Thermostat. It already has a wire that has a single connector coming off the harness and Y's, one to the bottom to operate the thermostat and another to the top for the temperature sensor which doubles as the bleed screw.
However, my new thermostat seems to have an independent thermostat from bleed screw but the wiring is roughly in the same place. It looks like the connectors are wider though than the new Thermostat. So I believe I can just un-click the main wiring harness, use the new one and connect it on the top and bottom of the new Thermostat? I just want to make sure since this is so confusing.
