Reset adaptations after Timing Chain Replacement

So I am finishing up my timing chain replacement and realized I will have to reset the adaptations when complete. By the way, the intake camshaft was way out of time and the timing chain in the car had been replaced by someone fairly recently. It still looked almost new. I guess they didn't lock down the cams when they did it. I manually turned the cam with a wrench (after locking the flywheel) and got it into the proper position. Having never worked on one of these before, I don't know if this is the right way to do it or not, but I did. If that is a REALLY BAD THING, please let me know.
Anyway...can you reset the adaptations using Bimmerlink or Carly? If so, how do you do that?
Thanks!

Does anyone have any ideas? Did I really screw up by turning the intake cam to the correct position?

You should be fine if you moved the cam before locking it down and bolting the sprocket. I would just fire it and let ‘er rip.
