Will engine timing being off cause P0340?

Will engine timing being off cause P0340?
So here's the deal. I just replaced my camshaft and rocker arms and now the car won't start. It cranks fine, but won't actually fire up. I checked for a code with my scanner and P0340 popped up. I replaced the camshaft position sensor, cleared the code, and tried to start the car again.
Nothing changed, car still won't start and the code popped back up. I'm confused. I'm considering the possibility that I threw off the timing somehow while replacing the camshaft. Can that cause this code?
