Driving Light bulbs

Does anyone know the modle number of the bulbs in the official MINI driving lights? Also, is it possible to replace them with brighter bulbs? I drive on a lot of unlit rural roads and I'm looking to shed more light on the road ahead of me.

The MINI accessory driving lights use a commonly available H3 bulb, 55 watts. I caution against installing much bigger than that since some have had problems with the additional heat cracking the lenses. Also, the additiona current draw can damage the relay. You can find some 65 watt replacements that would increase the light nicely without causing any other stress on the system. Avoid the 100 watt lamps.
