2009 R56 Cranks but No Start
I'm near the end of my rope with this one.
I have a 2009 Base Hatchback with manual transmission that we rebuilt because of an overheating problem.
It cranks but does not start. There is no spark and the plugs smell of gas when I pull them. There is no battery positive voltage on the green wire for coil 3 or for terminal 1 on the ECU. There is positive voltage to the relay though. the ECU has been tested and they were unable to recreate my problem.
Fault codes are misfires on all 4 cylinders and a faulty coolant temp sensor that I replaced.
The car failed to start after working for a few months. It was still overheating and I had bought a new radiator but before i received it the car failed to start. The battery was very low but charging it didn't fix the problem. I don't know how to check the alternator without the car starting.
I know I'll most likely have to take it to a mechanic but the closest mini one is four hours away so I want to fix it myself.
Any help would be appreciated.
