Stalls if CEL is cleared, Idles ok with CEL, Shifts feel delayed
Hi all, got a pretty weird issue. Tried my best to search but searching my two error codes, P1162 and P1163, doesn't come up with any results.
History: HPFP replaced last month (from FCPEuro), valve cover replaced and oil filter housing gaskets replaced within the last two years (<5k miles), 45k miles since last walnut blasting (aware that this is likely due). Car has 155k miles.
I've got a 2009 Mini Cooper S with P1162 and P1163. Starting up the car with the CEL on seems pretty normal, but watching the fuel pressure, it seems to stay at ~700psi for about a minute or two, then jumps up to ~1000-1100psi. Nothing else is completely out of the ordinary.
Driving the car with the CEL is the only way to move the car (as I'll explain later), but when I attempt to shift gears, it feels like the throttle delays noticeably, however occasionally and unpredictably.
Clearing the CEL yields the worst result. It's as if the car has an HPFP issue, the car barely idles and soon stalls after a few seconds.
I'll likely try another HPFP through FCPEuro through their lifetime replacement program, but I'd like to see what others think of this...I just don't know if another HPFP will be the solution here.

1162 and 1163 point to a throttle valve issue.

+1 they dont match up all the time. MINI scan tool will tell you more.
I have seen carbon and gunk build up on the throttle bodies due to the PCV system sending the oil mist back through the intake. Some people just clean it and its ok.
Also the throttle bodies can sometimes fail. They either have gear problem on the inside or they just stop working. They are all one unit.

@njaremka, you're right. P1162/P1163 showed up on my AEM OBD2 scanner. I used three other scanners and got anywhere between 2-4 codes (lol). Can't remember them off the top of my head, but in any case, they all generally point towards the throttle body.
@ECSTuning, the explanation about the PCV system makes sense, I didn't think about it that way. I'll likely get a catch can to prevent this from happening again in the future, but I'll also do some digging to see how quickly this issue would happen again.
