"Smart" Software?

(resurrecting this thread instead of starting a new one ...)
OK, the software 'learns' driving style and adjusts engine parameters appropriately.
Another question then: Does using the AC screw up the computer's 'learning' of your driving style? Since more is being demanded of the engine with the AC on, will the computer get 'confused,' or does it used two different mappings: one for AC on and another for AC off?

switch to 89 octane
Two weeks ago, when prices started hitting the $3.50 point in the DC area, I decided to switch from 93 octane "Premium" down to 89 octane "Plus". I used the OBC-ODO-trick (reset ECU test# 21) expecting the car to begin to relearn its A/F mappings and adjust for the lower octane. Well, it seems to have done some good!
My first 89oct tank lasted 405 miles / 12.20 gal = 33.2 mpg
Now on my second fillup (and soon to pass 27k miles total) I'm @ 1/2 tank after 240 miles driven + Range: 240 more!!
So... while saving ~$1.50 per fillup, it also seems I'm gaining fuel economy
