Bentley manual for 05 Cooper

It is worth spending the money on? Are the 05s that much different than the previous models?

Thanks.

Where did you find this? I checked the Bentley Publishers website and they only have the 2002-2004 listed.

Maybe I should have worded it differently..I was wondering if the existing manual (for cars up to 04) would apply to my 05--are there big differences between the cars?

I think that the 2002-2004 version only became available late last year. I haven't seen any information on when a version covering the '05 might become available. So I share your question about the differences and whether the 2002-2004 version will be adequate. It may be the best available for a year or two.

Here's what's literally different, from a maintenance perspective:
(I'm sure I'm missing a few things, feel free to add!)

*different tranny ratios - makes no change in most maintenance
*different cat-back internals - makes no change in maintenance
*taillights different functionality (back up and rear fog's swapped location)
*interior oh-sh*t handle for front passenger, and driver side side visor
*center console with front cubby and under e-brake cubby
*larger rear cupholder in center console
*different supercharger part number - different rotor coating
*radio antenna now bigger/different (same as late MY04), optional part number houses Sat radio antenna also.
*door handles slightly different design in functionality only, look same
*same cat-back hangers as 2nd half of MY04
*depending on build date, clock is either in the odometer, or over head console
*speaking of overhead console, more map lights for front passengers
*bigger door card armrests - no change in maintenance
*different seat bases.

For the most part - I'd say there isn't enough difference to say someone with an '05 can't use an '02-'04 manual. All the basics are the same.

Cheers!
Ryan

I'm pretty sure that a manual covering the 05s will be coming out any day now. How do I know this? Because I just bought the 02-04 version!

Other 05 changes: -Limit slip differential

-Adjustable camber on the rear wheels

There obviously is no info on these items in the Bentley book.

Normally I'd applaud that Murphy's logic, but my experience with Bentley is that they rarely if ever update their manuals once published. There might be exceptions, but if so I believe they tend to prove the rule.

So my advice would be to go with what there is and figure out the differences as they may arise.

I've found this to be true also, but I just bought the 3-Series manual which I believe was updated to include the 05 models....figures.
