Cat Failure!

As soon as i started the car in the morning.. rolled down the windows.. then imediately i felt...." hmmm... why is it sooo loud?" my scorpion normally is loud.. just not MAGNAFLOW loud! i ignored it and drove to school.. on the highway.. drone from 2.5 grand is UNBEARABLE!!! i literally was deaf by the time i got to school from my 20 minute highway drive... cel light was not on so i assume that one of the clamps on the exhaust came loose....

on the way home.. cel light came on... i knew it it's the cat! car is still loud...

any theories? i dont believe any of my mods could've caused the cat to fail... is it possible that i got a crack somewhere? will the dealer cover me even with my mods (i dont think i've done stuff that others have not done)..

Make sure that the bolts did not fall out of the pipe flange after the cat. Many people seem to have issues with bolts coming loose and ending up with a loud exhaust. Replace the bolts with longer ones and use locking nuts.

If the exhaust pipe comes apart at this point the resulting leak not only allows exhaust gasses to escape, but allows fresh are to enter because of 'reversion'. It's this fresh air going in that can trip up the post-cat O2 sensor and light the MIL.
