Headlamp Lens Question

I have taken out a claim on my car for some wind damage that chipped the hell out of my front end. The insurance adjuster wrote up to just replace the headlight lenses.

1. Is the headlight lense even available as a separate part.
2. I thought the headlamp assemble was a sealed unit.

Any input or experience with this sort of thing, anyone?

Sean

The housing itself is a sealed assembly. With non-xenons, the bulbs are separate items. With xenons, the bulbs, ballasts, and washers are separate, and both have miscellaneous hardware and other bits. To replace the lens means you have to replace the entire housing. This is the case with just about any car these days, headlight or taillight.

I guess I will have to call the parts dept. at my dealership and verify this...maybe talk to the mechanic as well. If this ends up being the case I think I will replace my 02 Xenons with some 05's

Mother nature strikes again

I had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago......insurance adjuster quoted me $166 each for the headlights until I did a readjustment because they are xenons...~$650 each for the entire assembly. They used the orginal washer unit, just replaced the crome cover.
