I've only had my car for a week, and when I drove it to work this morning, I noticed that the temperature display was suddenly reading in Celsius (previously, it was reading Fahrenheit). What's up with this? How do I change it back? Any ideas?

I know how to cure that. First, you would put your key in the ignition before statring the car when all the lights on the dash light up. Second, you would go to the temperature screen on your On-Board Computer and hold that button down. Holding the button down on that page will bring Celsius back to Faranheit.

Yeah, I tried holding down the on-board computer button when it was at the temperature screen. No dice. Think I'll try holding down that auto button. It's very depressing to see the outside temperature read -9.5 degrees! (Celsius, that is.)

I tried the same thing you did yesterday, and it didn't work for me, either. It did work on the auto dial, but I didn't think to check if that also changed the onboard computer display before I switched it back.

I suppose this is probably in the manual...

It is in the manual, although that's maybe not too helpful since the manual can be inscrutable at times.

The way to change the scale (F to C or vice versa) on a non-NAV MINI is with the auto dial. The computer stalk button does not work (tried it myself too last night). On a MINI with NAV, I believe it can be changed via the NAV unit. I don't know at all -- w/o reading the manual -- how it's done on a non-NAV, non-Auto Climate Control, car.
