Bird Chirp in the right rear.....

Bird Chirp in the right rear.....
Any one have any ideas?
I have climbed in the back of the MINI while the wife drove. From inside the cabin the noise sounds as though it is coming from the right rear, below the access panel one would use to get to the rear tail light assembly.
The noise is that of a bird chirping...More like metal on metal. Usually starts after the first sort of bump.
I am looking to do a sway bar and rear spring in the very near future. Is there something I should look at while doing these to resolve this issue?
