I would like to purchase my oil filters from someone other than the dealer for my MCS. So far, I have been unable to locate anyone that sells the basic oil/air filters required for general maintaince. I would appreciate any direction/information that you could provide me..... Thanks

Getting my mini in two weeks and was thinking about the same.

How often you miniacs change the oil? I plan to do the first change at about 1500 miles. Any ideas out there?

Thanks

At present, the filters are ONLY available from MINI dealers (with prices ranging close to $12 each). It's rumored that they'll soon be available from BMW dealers (which aside from location couldn't possibly be better than buying them from MINI dealers) and that an aftermarket Purolator (sp?) will be avail. Odds are that the filter is made by Purolator or Mann anyway, so the idea that they'll be selling them directly vs. OEMimg them aren't far-fetched.

There are lots of threads on MCO re. frequency of oilchanges. Let's just say that there are differing opinions.

We will also have one soon. It will be a Hastings brand (parent co of Baldwin). I hope they will be less than 8.00.

I bought an "oil change kit" from RSpeed.

It included five litres of Mini brand oil, a paper funnel and -- one Mini oil filter.

Dunno if they'll sell just the filter.

I paid $6.66 for a filter from my dealer. Don't let them rip you off!

Minimania sells filters for new minis. I buy all my stuff for the old mini from them and plan to buy all the new stuff too. Just go to their web page and order.
