2005 Mcs Issues With Top

Yes. My friends wife has this trouble - see an article I wrote on my weblog a few months back:

This problem has not been resolved by replacing the pump motor (which contains in internal temperature sensor which is obviously too sensitive).
My friends wife has "solved" the issue by (a) parking in the shade and (b) opening the roof in the early morning before it gets too hot
BTW: Why is this thread in "MTH"?

The sunroof part is driven by different motors to the main folding down part; those motors apparently don't have the "too-hot-shutdown" problem.
