optima battery for mcs??

has anyone successfully fit an optima battery into an mcs??

the optima battery finder doesn't show applications for either the cooper or
the s.

is the 's' battery a group 42 size?? i thought i saw that somewhere but can't
find it now.

i have great success in my other vehicles w/ the optima.

I have a new 51R, but its too tall... and for sale

I believe a D35 series will just fit (9in tall w/terminals). Footprint isn't a problem. You will have to find an alternative way to mout it though.

FWIW, here's some info I got in the Audio forum: the stock "S" battery is 9x7x7.5.

The Optima battery comes in 2 basic sizes (info from the Optima web site): 9.313x6.813x7.625 and 10x6.875x7.813. CGrant's 34/78 is the latter dimension, according to the Optima web site. I ordered a 75/25 Yellow Top, which has the smaller dimensions listed. I haven't installed it yet, so I can't say categorically it will fit, but I expect it to fit, based on the dimensions.

Hope these numbers are helpful.
