New MINI, and something fell off.

I just picked up my MINI yesterday, and I am still freaking out how cool it is. So I woke up this morning to put a couple of things from my old car into it, when I opened the driver side door, and there is this part sitting on the floor. I tried to look under by the peddles, and around, but I have no idea where it fell off from. It looks like a bit of trim, or a vent or something. And I am thinking I must have bumped it off when I got out of the car. I took a couple images of it. If anyone can tell me when it is that would be great. I really hope its not too important.

It looks like the rubber thing that surrounds where you insert the ignition key on the steering column.

You should be able to squeeze it back in place without removing the steering column trim, but if not, the dealership (or you yourself) can put it back on in a couple of minutes.

Odd that it fell out on its own--must not have been properly seated when it was installed, or something raked it off pretty hard...

Part number 16 in this diagram...

Sweet. I'll try and stick it on myself, but if it gives me any lip, I'll zip over to the dealer. Havn't even had the car a full day yet!

Well in that case, yet I wouldn't even fret a second about it. They'll solve the mystery in a heartbeat and you can get on to motoring w/o a care!
