Can someone recommend a good brand of coolant to use? I've never had to replace coolant before, so your wisdom would be appreciated. Should I stick withe blue stuff that's in there or does that matter?????

As there seems to be a common problem with coolant these days on the MINI's, especially the MCS's, I've taken matters into my own hands as posted in other threads on the matter. I had a friend of mine at my local Ford dealer do a coolant flush on my MCS awhile back. I had the Ford Mototcraft coolant put in. And so far have driven roughly 3000km's on it, and no problems, no color changes, no difference in ph levels, no lights coming on or increased temp. Everything checks out A-OK.
I wasn't about to wait around for MINI/BMW to come up with an answer as to why the coolant was turning brown. Didn't feel like wrecking my car in the meantime. The coolant in there now has retained its dark neon green color all this time. Seems to be working just fine.
Cheers,
