DIY repairs: boot latch replacement
Ok, well this summer I overran my warantee, and since I am an hour-and-a-half from the nearest dealer(s), I have equipped myself with a Bently Manual and a fault code reader.
I'm used to working on my own cars, but my boot latch is stuck in the closed position, and I'm looking for someone who has fixed this problem themselves. I'm figguring that I'll have to replace the latch. I'm lucky that I had the seats down, as I have a pre-ripcord latch.
Has anyone done this? How can I get the hatch open to work on it?
thanks!!

My boot latch was stuck on the "close" position last summer. But my boot was open, so I could access the latch easily.
If your boot is opened, but the latch is on the "close" position, it's a very easy fix. Just remove the plastic molding and you'll get access to the latch. Then, using a screwdriver, just push the little pin on one of the sides of the latch (can't remember which side, sorry), and everything will be fine!
Hope this works!

Sorry, I misread your topic...
There might (because it seems like an option, mine doesn't have it) a hidden release wire under the rear seats... Simply lift the rear seats, and check for that. I hope yours have it.
I also had an electric problem with my boot latch system : It wouldn't open anymore. The dealer changed the whole mechanism under warranty.
