What in the....MINI's cheaping out!

Well, i was cleaning the motor today.... i noticed the MINI emblem on the valve cover was pulling up a bit.

So, i yanked it off real fast.... and i had one of those WTF moments

I kinda had to take a look and see if i was seeing things....

looks like MINI decided not to make a new valve cover for the cars that this motor goes into!

anyone else ever notice this?

excuse my lack of savy, but I don't get it, I knew the MINI was a 1.6 and a 16 valve. So what if they put a decal over it?

it appears MINI didnt feel like having another valve cover die made up, so they just slapped a decal over the valve cover used in the other cars this motor is used in.

if ya ask me, that sounds like something chrysler would do, not BMW.

Okay, guess I see your point, wonder how much of that came from contractual obligations from the passing around of MINI before BMW got their hands on it, the engine itself isn't a BMW, yet. I'll just leave the decal on for now though.

Well, Rick...

That's because it IS something Chrysler does... as they DO make the engines for the Minis, until 2007 when they switch over to... ::pukes:: Peugeot.
