Where are the Build Stickers that have all the option codes on them located on the Mini?

haha, it would be too easy id MINIs were liek Mopars.

as far as i know, they only way to get an options list it by calling MINIUSA with your vin number.

 

Really? from what I was told I was under the impression all vehicles have them somewhere...

Some vehicles can tell you alot from a vin, MINIS arent like that.

Mopars and fords have fender tags, chevys have cowl tags. these also can tell you engines, drivelines and even some paint codes in the vin in some cases.

i believe all the vin is for these days it to track order numbers down the production line, and dont carry the same significance that the VIN used to.

 

I just phoned my Mini service department to try and find out about the build sticker, and the service representative told me that on our Minis the options can be determined by the VIN's. He also mentioned that all the 2006 Cooper S's have LSD standard!!! I have never heard of that before; can anyone vouch for it?

I just ordered a 2006, and there is still the $500 option to have it or not, maybe he meant JCW's?

He means that there is a database which when accessed by VIN will provide a record of all options ... not that a VIN is coded to indicate options on a car

 

a build sheet like what you are talking about comes with the car when it is straight off the truck at the dealerships. however they are thrown away when the car is prepped for sale
