new catch can install, havent seen this one
whats up guys. today my friend sold me his greddy catch can...neer opened for $50 and wendy's for lunch. so great deal! anyway i started to install it but ran out of daylight. but i cant resist but show how far i have gottn. haha tomorrow it will be done and ill post after pics. anyway here is what i have so far. (i got the steal braided line just because i think it looks better. sure it cost a little more but it makes me happy.)
PS, i decided to run the hoses in two directions because its way to crowded under the ic. plus the braided line isnt as bendable as silly-cone

I think you might want to keep a close eye on the catch can as it is mounted over a hot exhaust manifold. (I know. There is a shield there) I prefer the location down by the engine ground strap to keep the can out of harms way if there is a leak. An oil fire is a nasty thing! It does look nice though. Comments?

It's not the possibility of getting the oil hot that concerns me. I am concerned that if oil were to leak or spill on a hot manifold shield and then run down onto the hot manifold during driving, you could end up with a engine compartment that looks like a baked Alaska! Honestly, I haven't heard of it ever happening yet , but sometimes we need to exercises caution when mounting aftermarket goodies unless the manufacturer is willing to accept the liability of it's instillation. (which is doubtful)

yeah i see where your comming from. everything is real solid. the catch can was made to be mounted either vertical or horizontal. anyway its a very very solid catch can. i have herd of people that have had problems with their tubing from the catch can t the supercharger line (grey hard one..) colapsing. thats why im using steal braided lines. im very pleased
ill post pics tonight sometime..or maybe tomorrow..you'll see

While we are on this subject, when you install a O.C.C, you usually have to remove the I.C. for line instillation. While the I.C. is off, take the core down to a radiator shop and have it boiled out. Mine was loaded with oil after just 20,000 miles. The shop charged me $10 to do this. Having a clean intercooler should promote better intake cooling efficiency.
