Has anyone noticed this with the intercooler?

The intercooler seems to heat up in seconds, and stays hot long after everything else cools down! In fact today, after an hour drive, the fan was on for 20 minutes after shutting off the engine... I'm afraid it's going to drain the battery sooner or later... Anyone else notice this?

Since the intercooler is on top of the motor that is going to happen. The intercooler gets hit with all the compression heat from the supercharger and the waste heat from the motor. An engine actually gets hotter right after it is shut down since the coolant is no longer being circulated through it. All that waste heat that has to go somewhere and it follows the path of least resistance right out the hood scoop and the intercooler absorbs a lot of the escaping heat.

The WRX also had this problem. One of the first mods many people do to turbocharged cars that have the intercooler on top of the motor is to move the intercooler in front of the radiator. I would not be surprised at all if an aftermarket company comes up with a kit in the next few months to do just that. They would probably come up with a larger intercooler to place in the front of the radiator but they might also use the stock one.
