transmission linkage?

so in december i had my flywheel and clutch replaced due to it clickin. anyways the transmission hasn't been as smooth after that. it isn't the clutch, i am pretty sure that it disengages fully. so i think this most be the linkage that is off, and needs to be adjusted.
i read on one thread about people being able to shift in first at red line with no prob, i tried going in first at 3000ish from second but there is no way, i can feel it about to grind.
do you guys think this in the linkage or is there something else wrong here. there is only 5,000 on the car too, most of that highway.
any input would be most appreciated.

you want to be able to shift into first at redline of what gear, 2nd? If you want to shift into 1st from higher rpm's in 2nd, try double clutching. I haven't had any problems shifting into first, the tall gearing makes it pretty easy.

i don't want to, but people are able to do it and i can't, just trying to see whats wrong with the tranny, sense it isn't as crisp as before. I always double clutch when downshifting.

Well I developed a habit of double clutching into third up or down and I haven't been able to downshift to first unless I am within about 100 RPMs rev matching other wise I simply can't get the lever to go there no matter how much I pump the clutch. I have never had any tranny work done.

I finally got a chance to check how hard it is to shift into first at different speeds. I was able to get into 1st at 50 mph just as easily as going into 3rd. That is above the redline in first so I did'nt engage the clutch or try at higher speeds. That is with 70k miles on it.
