CAI Intake noise question...

I've been running a Helix CAI for a few weeks now and have generally gotten used to the intake noise..... BUT there is another whine, actually more like a whistle (from a vacuum line?) that comes on only under very light or feathered throttle. It's annoying on the highway. Can anyone shed any light or offer a suggestion?

Thanks,

hopper

Normal noise. Usually heard when making a small correction of speed on the highway. Super annoying to some.

I had the same thing. Its the vacuume line. Well, I have a MCSa so i have 2 vacuume lines. I have an HAI so i put a "mini" filter on them. It works.

Where are the lines located? Is there a downside to puting a "mini filter" on them?

The wistle is air passing over the TB, it wont completely go away but should quiet itself down quite a bit after a few hundred miles from clean, all depends on what kind of air you drive through really. No worries its all normal.

It's got the better part of a thousand miles on it now with no change in the whistle at a slightly cracked throttle. Open the throttle further and the whistle goes away almost immediately and is then replaced by sc whine. I'm thinking that it might have something to do with the bypass valve.

Did you install the intake with or without the plastic partion behind it? With it in the noise should be a bit less.

The vacuume line(s) are on the stock intake tube from the airbox to the TB.
