Coil Wiring

Is it safe to assume the solid RED wire that runs to the coil pack is the 12volt + wire to the coil pack?

And the other two striped wires are for firing the two cylinders?

I just need to find 12volt+ on the coil pack right now to hook up a tach adapter.

On an Eclipse, as illustrated in the MSD directions (Whom with we share coil packs) the center wire (RED on our cars) is the 12volt+.

The solid red wire is the 12volt source. The black with brown stripe fires cyls 1 and 4, the black with red stripe does 2 and 3.

Thanks alot GB, everything worked out great and I have a working shiftlight.

A few pics...

I was a little scared to cut the power wire off of the coil in half, but it went back nicely and i sealed it all up with some heat shrink tube and covered it up with some electrical tape and it looks pretty nice.

Good job, glad it all worked out.

Mustang is still sittin around, I havent been able to touch it lately, other cars to work on that are of higher priority than the Mustang is.

We have a 77 T/A that needs to be done June first, and it just went into primer!
