Different Windshield Issue

Does anyone else notice very fine specs inside the windshield glass? On certain angles-like driving into the sun, it's almost like there are little pin-head size air bubbles inside the glass.

I have to go in for my 25k check-up, but wanted to see if this was a covered warrantee issue.

thanks

At 25k miles, those might not be inside the glass but may be caused by the thousands of little grains of sand and tiny rocks that have scoured the windshield over time.

But actual bubbles in the glass should not be there. . .

I wonder if you are seeing the laminated glass...its very obvious on Toyota glass.

If the glass is de-laminating, then it would be a warranty issue. Even bubbles inside the glass would be a warranty issue. But, impacts (even very fine grains of sand) on the outside are in the wear-and-tear exclusion. Maybe you could get your auto insurance poilicy to cover a windshield replacement (if it is abrasion from external sources)?

Thanks

I was thinking it was a window tinting mishap, but all I got was the stock windshied, nothing special.

Nope, it is nothing to do with outside impact. The glass is polished and smooth on the outside. I figured the hood would also show sand or grit damage, if that were the case...but she's like a mirror.

Thanks for the tip on the insurance, I do have the full coverage. It was a couple extra bucks a month, but those MINI windshields are almost $500, just for the part!

If I get it resolved, I'll follow-up for the benefit of fellow motorers.

thanks again
