mcs hood scoop

am i the only one that thinks the mc should have had a hood scoop as well.it seems to me that for those cramped conditions, the mc should have one so it could breathe a little bit better. all it has is a 2 3/4 inch pipe that vents from right above the radiator . and that thing gets hot! i talked to an auto body guy around the cornere from me and he said that he didn't know if the mcs hood would fit the mc. does anyone know of anybody else going this route?or should i be considering other options. right now , all i know is that my fan comes on every other minute and it's starting to get a little annoying.i don't know the first thing about cars, but i do know that i need to do something about this. so if you have any suggestions please let me know. i have a cai. but you mine as well call it a hai.(h is for hot for all those out ther as dumb as me) thanks

Ive been thinking of doing the same thing - any idea where to locate a mcs bonnet? Any idea on how much the install might be, or if it is a possible DIY?

There's a $600 carbon fiber hood w/scoop floating around one of the Mini aftermarket parts vendors around here. I forget which one carries it tho.

Hey there,

The MCS bonnet will fit the MC - it will be taller than the MC bonnet but it should fit just fine. As far as finding one.. there is always the MINI dealer ( $$$$$ ) or I have seen a few on E-bay, you might want to contact your local ( or several close ) dealers and see what body shops they use for collision repairs - call the shops and see if they any that are usable?

Or as Wagnbat said - go carbon fiber . You might want to call some of the vendors for NAM ( Webb, etc...) see if they have any bonnets laying around thier shops???

Good luck

an mcs hood would be great, but is there any other options. i've already hooked up a 90 degree pvc fitting to the end of the airflow pipe , so that the airflow shoots straight up to the filter.i 'm starting to wish i would've been a member when i messed my hood up the first time. i would have just done it then.
