Has anyone changed out their horns on the MINI? If so which type did you get and who did the work. I am thinking about the factory air horns and just haven't made up my mind.

I didn't know there was a factory air horn option, do you have a link?
TIA!

Whoa... I was totally thinking about this last night. Strange to it here today. I'm interesting in switching out my horn for something that sounds more unique. Something like a Porsche horn would be nice.

I'm not aware of any factory air horns either. I've been looking at http://www.fiammamerica.com. They have sound clips on their site which helps out immensely.

Several local owners have installed air horns...seems the challenge is finding space under the bonnet for them. Search on metroplexmini

I had one of those air horn jobs in my old car and it would scare the crap out of unsuspecting pedestrians...I would love to get one for my MINI, would there be enough room under the hood? Also, anyone put in one of those novelty horns? The ones that play all sorts of music...LOL.

That is a pretty sweet install. I just checked the Moss MINI website. Their kit is priced at $80. It looks to me like they use the Hella Air Horns which I have seen on the internet for $32. Do the math and that comes to about $48 for custom mounting brackets and MINI-specific instructions. That said, the mounting location does look good. I'm curious if they work with an S with Headlight washers. It's not clear from the two options they offer.

My experience with air horns is: They sound great then unexpectedly stop working after 6 months. Although, I would still consider installing them since I really like the sound. Anyone else's ever mysteriously stop?

How about a sound sample from MOSS MINI?
