Help my car sounds like rubbing when I make slow tight turns
I just traded my 04 MCS for a 06 JCW and when I slowly (about 1-8 mph) turn the wheel slightly it makes a rubber rubbing noise. I know enough to check the obvious such as the tire rubbing, but there is no such contact or wear. I have aftermarket Enki's which are the exact same tire size and make the exact same rubbing noise as the factory wheels did. My 04 didn't do this and a 05 I drove for a day didn't either. Any ideas? I really don't want to swap the wheels back to factory because I know that is what the stealership will say is making the noise when it isn't. I am confused as all hell and other than the noise I love my new car just like I could love a person. Thanks in advance

Chad - I had the same problem with my '05 with LSD. Check this out...

I ended up with a new transmission, which has not completely solved the problem and to this day I wish I had this TSB in hand when I walked into my service dept. It's back on my list for my next service.
Hope that helps.

I took my '05 MCS with LSD in for the groaning sound. THey replaced the fluid per the TSB ... no more groan.

My 04 does this. The dealer said they've replaced the guide supports. Whatever the hell those are. The noise is still there. It seems to be more when making right handed slow speed turns, such as pulling into a parking space or backing out. For a while, I thought it was the rubber from the tire as I'm turning...
Anyone know what a guide support is?
