MINI code reader

I've looked in old posts but haven't found anything regarding this....is there a specific code reader that will read the MINI/BMW error codes? Thanks!

OBD-II code readers are generic and come loaded with data for the MINI. I went with one from Actron.

Any good OBD-II code reader for cars 1196 and on should work fine.

I have the R5/EMX from Peake ($130 list). This, paired with my Bentley manual, works very well.

OBD-II reader

Mini Mania sells a reader specifically for the BMW mini for about $130. The generic readers start there and go up in price depending on options.

To get the generic codes...

any OBD-II reader will work. To get to the BMW/Mini specific codes, you need something with that in it. To get other subsystems, you need even more....
AutoEnginuity is advertising OBD-II with lots of BMW/Mini extensions.... but for data logging it's very, very slow.....

The Actron ones are great and you can get one off ebay for a substantial discount. My model 9135 has an msrp of $165 and I remember seeing it locally for over $125. On ebay I paid about $75 shipped.
